Description
Set in Berlin during the 1930s and 1940s, Only the Brave follows nineteen-year-old Sophia Alexander, the daughter of a respected doctor. As the Nazi regime rises to power, Sophia joins a group of dissidents committed to helping persecuted Jewish families escape to safety. Answering a religious calling, she enters a convent, continuing her resistance against the Nazis. Her courage is tested when she’s arrested and taken to Ravensbrück concentration camp. After a daring escape, Sophia encounters a wounded U.S. airman, and as she nurses him back to health, they grow close. Torn between her commitment to the Church and her feelings for the airman, Sophia must find the strength to choose her path.
